I doubt the ticket has much to do with it. I'd say it's his prior screw-ups on and off the field that caused this. If it was the ticket (which happened on Dec.17), they would have suspended him before the game IF they weren't trying to circumvent what they said before about "zero tolerance". I'd say the stomp of Dumervil's knee put it over the top.

I really respect the Tech program for cutting ties with this kid...now they need to focus in more on character issues during their recruiting...I'm getting tired of the Jimmy Williams types as well. D'Lo Hall was about as much as I could tolerate in the thuggism category. Beamer was right Tech has traditionally not been that type of program. Maybe this will help put an end to those types of players coming to VT.

ive never liked tech, never will like tech but this is a great move. This thug didnt deserve to stay after his first offence.

Kudos to Va Tech-just elevated a notch in my book. Thug was lucky to even been given a second chance. One of these days he may learn that "being Mike's brother" isn't going to make things all good. If he keeps it up, he'll end up in the pen.

Back in 2004 I felt that he shouldn't have been given that 2nd chance to play again, after getting into legal (criminal) hot water.
He had a he!! of a lawyer with Kellerman - he really should have done jail time for his crime (last I checked underage drinking while photographing stripping minors is a crime and a bad image to the University).

I'm glad Tech finally cut ties with him.

Well, I am not a Tech fan or hater, but the bright spot in this is that Cory Holt will probably now right the ship. Hokie fans, you will not be disappointed. This kid can play and to me is like Randall in many ways. He will keep the Hokie O running in fine shape.

I do commend VT for taking a stand. More schools need to look and pay attention, maybe take some notes so they can make corrections in their programs.
